While suffering is part of life, learning ways to manage the suffering and remain open-hearted can mean getting to most out of your life. Individual therapy can provide helpful tools, constructive feedback, and fresh perspectives to help you get “unstuck” and help you get the most out of your life.

  • Teenagers are going through many complex changes both physically and emotionally. Sometimes teens can use some support navigating those changes from someone other than a caregiver. If you have an older teen (16+) that is struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or low self-esteem, individual therapy might be right for them. While the primary focus of treatment will be on the teenager, some sessions with caregivers will be necessary to help foster a supportive home environment.

  • Being a parent is the hardest job on earth. No amount of parenting skills will make it easy. However, there are ways to approach parenting that can help you maximize your joy and learn to weather the storms with your sanity intact. Positive parenting techniques can help you get the most out of parenting and build memories to cherish for a lifetime.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

If you are struggling with symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder such as: dissociation, flashbacks, panic attacks, or frequent nightmares, EMDR is the technique of using bilateral stimulation via eye-movement or tapping to process traumatic memories and triggers. EMDR can greatly decrease or even eliminate trauma symptoms for some people. If you think EMDR might be right for you, reach out for a free 15 minute phone consult.

  • While religious institutions and spiritual communities are meant to offer hope and fellowship, sometimes they do great harm. Trauma incurred from a religious or spiritual organization can instigate a crisis of faith along with the common trauma symptoms. Experiencing spiritual trauma can be an isolating and frightening experience. If you are suffering from a traumatic spiritual or religious experience, know that you are not alone and there is help.

  • Elderflower Counseling is now offering therapeutic sessions held in the scenic mountains of Western North Carolina. While office spaces provide privacy and a layer of shelter from the elements, therapy in an office misses out on the incredible benefits of meeting in wild spaces. Nature itself is medicine and has properties to expedite nervous system regulation and enhance the benefits of the therapeutic process.

  • Skip the traffic and putting on real pants with tele-health sessions.
